ETS - Surcharge announcement
-
In reference to the commercial notice from November 2023, we would like to inform you of a modification in the calculation method of the ETS emission surcharge, which will take effect in March 2025.
Under the new rules, the emission surcharge will be calculated based on the average monthly CO₂ emissions generated by all ferries in our service and the average price of emission allowances applicable for the given period.
The data used to determine the surcharge for the following month will cover the period from the 21st of the previous month to the 20th of the current month. For example, the surcharge for April will be based on the market prices from February 21 to March 20. This calculation method ensures greater transparency and better alignment of the surcharge with actual market fluctuations during the period.
The amount of the ETS surcharge for a given month will be published on the website www.unityline.pl/cargo and will apply to all our ferry links.
All other agreed terms of carriage remain unchanged. We are confident that these changes will provide a more precise and fair reflection of CO₂ -related costs while enhancing transparency in our settlements with customers.

Following the announcement regarding the modification in the calculation of the surcharge, we would like to inform you that the amount of the ETS surcharge for April 2025 is set at:
2,65 EUR per line meter
The average monthly price of CO₂ emission is taken from quotations published here: https://www.eex.com/en/market-data/environmentals/spot
